Whitney Jencka DVM

Dr. Whitney Jencka began her path in veterinary medicine almost twenty years ago as a veterinary assistant while she earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Northern Michigan University. She continued to work as a veterinary technician during veterinary school at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2013.

Dr. Jencka joined Bay Area Pet Hospital in 2016. Dr. Jencka enjoys the fast-paced and often challenging cases encountered as an emergency veterinarian. Being able to improve a pet’s quality of life and reduce pain and suffering are two of her passions; she is grateful for the opportunity to do both at Bay Area Pet Hospital every shift. It is valuable to her that owners can bring their pet in in an emergency, have a complete diagnostic work-up, and stay for therapies and 24-hour monitoring. She enjoys being part of a practice that feels like family and that allows her to be surrounded by high-quality veterinarians who continue to advance each other’s medicine. Dr. Jencka was recognized as Traverse Magazine’s “Red Hot Best Veterinarian” in 2019.
